Our Religious Education scheme follows the Saffron Academy Trust curriculum and provides a broad, balanced exploration of worldviews and religions across the year groups. Pupils study Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, Sikhism and Buddhism, alongside non-religious worldviews such as Humanism, developing both knowledge and understanding as they progress through the school. Learning is structured through a range of carefully sequenced units, each explored through three complementary lenses: the theology lens (thinking through believing), which examines core beliefs and teachings; the philosophy lens (thinking through thinking), which encourages pupils to ask questions and reflect on meaning and truth; and the human and social science lens (thinking through living), which considers how beliefs and values influence individuals, communities and everyday life. This approach supports respectful dialogue, critical thinking and an appreciation of diversity in our modern world.
Parents/Carers have the right to withdraw their child/ren from all of or part of RE. If Parents/Carers would like to withdraw their child/ren from certain aspects of the RE Curriculum, they must contact their child/rens class teacher in advance of the lesson.
